Our celebration was a big success. Here is a great write-up about it. Thanks, Karen!

I would like to personally thank everyone who helped plan and execute this event.
It was a lot of work and preparation, but we have gotten tons of positive feedback on it. So, “Well Done!!!”. An extra thank you to those who made donations to help pay for the event.
Would also like to thank the following individuals:
- Senator Van Taylor for attending, speaking and presenting a proclamation from the State Senate. Also for being an Eagle Scout 🙂
- FUMC Executive Pastor Paul Gould for speaking and for continuing to see the value in the Scouting program and the relationship between the church and the Scouts. We appreciate you and First United Methodist Church very much.
- District Executive Ron Settele and Unit Commissioner Gary Bowman who continue to be extremely supportive of and helpful to our troop.
- The Plano City Council and Mike Caranfa for allowing us to fly the American flag to commemorate this milestone and for presenting this flag along with a proclamation to Troop 291 and FUMC from the City.
Additionally, would like to express a great big thanks to former Eagles and Leaders. As I wrote in the program, you paved the way for the Scouting program that we continue to build upon, a program that makes a huge difference in so many boys’ lives. The commitment by all the leaders, both past and present, help make this a truly awesome experience of fun and growth for generations of young men. Your help prepares these Scouts to become not only excellent citizens of our world, nation, and community, but also future leaders that make a difference through their actions, morality, and daily adherence to the Scout Oath and Law.
Finally, if you are a scout or leader and did not receive a patch or program and would like one, please send your address to me at the email address below.
For the boys,
Guy M. Saenger
